Wow. 40 years? Where does the time go?
I would like to connect with some old friends if anyone remembers me. Maybe not. I kept a pretty low profile all through school.
A little about me:
I pursued a short (not my decision) military career after graduation and landed a Cartographic Drafting job shortly after being discharged. I am still in the same general business and have a great job in Albuquerque as a Geospatial Analyst and ISO Auditor for one of the largest Civil Engineering firms in the Southwest.
I've moved around a lot and have been married twice in 36 years. I have 1 daughter, 3 step sons and 8 grandchildren. My grandchildren have taught me the patience I never seemed to have with their parents. Go figure.
I enjoy riding my motorcycle, doing some minor woodworking and tinkering in my minimal spare time. I hope to retire in a few years to do more touring and spend more time with my grandchildren.

I also hope to attend our 40th Reunion if there will be one next year.

Hi,

I am Theresa Licata now Hoyos and I just found this site. I am alive and well and live in Bandera Texas the Cowboy Capital of the World. I have been living in Texas since 1989 and do not miss the snow. I hope to hear from some of my class mates. I graudated in 1970. Every so often I come up to Rochester to see family. I have not made it to any of the class reunions but would like to make it to the next one. Hope to hear from someone.

Well summer is here. Things are very quiet here in Holley NY. Last year my 16yr old daughter went to special ed in Gates High, what a big change from what I REMEMBER. She took me on a tour of the school thank god she was there or I would have been lost.

Disabled with arthritis 1999
moved to Jacksonville Florida 2002
Learned to play handbells with my oldest daughter
I'm currently serving on the Board Of Directors at our condominium home and volunteering at an elementary school helping kids with reading difficulties

MY FRIEND WAS IN A BAD ACCIDENT AND HAS 2 BROKEN ARMS AND A FRACTURED HIP AND A GASH ABOVE HER EYEBROWS.SHE DID NOT HAVE HER SEATBELT ON SO IT IS HER FAULT.SHE WAS NOT DRIVING AND MY LITTLE NEPHEW ONLY BIT HIS TOUNGE.THERE WERE 4 PEOPLE IN THE VAN AND BETTY GOT THE WORST OF IT.SO PLEASE SAY PRAYS FOR HER AND HER FAMILY

Hi to the class of '73

I just found the Gates Site today and would like to congratulate all those involved. Nice job!
I married my High school sweatheart, Laurie Keller, and we have been together for 32 years in December.

I retured from the Gates Police department in 2001 and now live in Florida. We couldn't take the winters one more second.

Our children both graduated from Gates in '96 and '98 and I have sent them them this link, perhaps they will join also.

Hey Spartans!

I hope all is well with you.
If you dont remember me my name is Leon DuPree.
I graduated with the class of 1988.

Well like highschool life has had its ups and downs... only more complex now that we are all grown up (alledgely) :)!

Lori Hosmer sent out a note early for the class reunion. I plan to do what I can to help out and allow us to get together and enjoy each other because you never know when the next time will be.

I know that some of you had a great time in high school, some of you did not. If you had a good time come back and rekindle those fond memories.

If you did not have a good time come back and create some positive memories by understanding in those years we were all pretty immature... I know I was :) This might not cut it for some people that were deeply hurt. I would advise reading a book called "Personality Plus" by Florence Littauer and or taking the Myers Briggs test. These types of tools are good in understanding that people are different and everyone has their own bent and or style. With this understanding you can know why you might not have meshed with people in our class or even today. There is a possibility that some one was a jerk and may have changed by now, but even if they did not.. Its our 20 year reunion and we had 463 kids in our class! We cant all be bad :)

Well I just celebrated my 50th birthday with friends and family. It was a great time. This event was held by my wife Becky. I have a daughter Shannon who has a P.H.d in immuniology and currently works in Maryland and I have two step children Sarah and Jamie. Becky and I are expecting our first grandchild. My wife found his site and thought it would be interesting to see what has been going on with my fellow classmates throughout the years.

Wow....is all I can say. It seems as though the clock is on super-duper speed when it comes to life after high school! Although I love my life now, I kinda miss the days where all I had to worry about was do well in school and finish my chores at home! lol

But on the flip side, I love being where I am today and (luckily) with no kids. I am completely focused on my career and advancing to the top as far as my mind will let me think. I do want kids, but when I get married. And the reason I'm not is because in today's society, people dont value what it means to be married. To me, its not something you do and change when it gets dirty. I have a neice that is coming into the world soon and I'm excited. Her name is Gianna (pronounced jee-ah-nuh). My little brother got married in August of '06. I was very excited for him and I hope that his marriage lasts for as long as their hearts beat. He has definitely grown into a lovely young man.

As for me, I'm working and writing. I want to open up something here in Rochester for the inner city youth. I believe that they are our future but are being led in the wrong direction and they need the "tracks" to be modified to go straight, and get the rocks and sticks off their pathway so its clear for them to succeed. I have some friends who I am working with and if this doesnt happen I definitely want to mentor some kids as well.

Other than that, I'm trying to live my life as best I can. I have become a very spiritual person and didnt realize the kind of love that comes from God is unconditional. With Him on my side, there is NOTHING I cant do.

My VERY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD....RL. She knows who she is. She went to Gates too. The only person that I could trust and confide in. We've been friends since we were 15-years old. And we're almost 30 today! lol

I love her to death....will do anything for her. If you're reading this...you are the sister I've always wanted but never had. I love you girl!
