Crowded hallways

My children go to a school in Northern Maine where the entire school body (pre-k thru 12th grade) is less then most graduating classes of the late 70's early 80's. I can't imagine not having 2,000 teens migrating from class to class at the same time. The jostling, the hellos and good-byes and see ya laters. But you know we were orderly back then. There was hardly ever a fight or a problem or an unkind word. I do remember the Ciranni brothers however. The two of them would go at it from time to time and of course we would be late to class.

And who can forget the last day of school when we would clean out our lockers by dumping the papers into the hallway. Can you say fire hazard? My sister, class of 1987, told me they weren't allowed to do it any more. What a bummer. We had fun piling it all up and then jumping into it like a pile of fall leaves.
